Both top draft picks are injured, did not get enough practice time in WI ...  That's why Herm's, we don't have a system, we just like tough players, BS is nonsense. Get a system so you can plug and play players....

The bright-side - hopefully Gailey does not get Hermanized.

I think if Herm left the O to Gailey and the D to Gunther we would be twice the team. As is, he can't keep his hands off of things. >.<

yes both picks are hurt thats why i hate building through the draft alone. every draft pick is a gamble no matter the carrer they had in college. you have to be active with free agents. you need people that have proven they can play in the league and not get hurt

Glad to see the new post. I agree with TCF. This whole "we just goin' go get 'em" attitude is a prescription for mediocrity if not outright failure. Your observation about the injured big picks is dead on. This goes straight to my harping about the media pass he is given and that whole "Herm's eye for talent". Again, can anyone tell me exactly who he has ever been involved with in a draft that went on to a pro bowl career? I suspect it is zero. It is exactly why I was hoping Jake Long would be available at number five. It would have made these guys put up or shut up about rebuilding the offense. We'll see how he works out for the Dolphins. The whole Albert/Dorsey deal made me uneasy from the start. What DT that is supposed to be that good ever slips to number five overall? A LEFT tackle who is a converted guard? Only the most critical position on an o line and we use a converted player? With the shape this line was in? As Matt points out, where was the free agent pick to back up this position?

BTW, can we start new topics in and of themselves? I mean, I see a "new topic" button within these existing posts but at times, it would be nice to start a whole new subject. Am I missing the button for this?

Edited to add: Shemp Gailey is hamstrung already in my opinion. Trying to run offense on a Herm Edwards team is like trying to pee up a rope. You can expend a lot of effort but in the end you are still standing in a pool of pee.

I agree with all but one thing you said. Keep in mind that Derek Johnson fell to the 15th spot a few years back and he worked out perfectly.

I believe that throwing away Jarred Allen and building a team with draft picks is just borrowing David Glass's theory on building a baseball team. TO SAVE MONEY!

Unfortunately too many tickets are being sold to buck this trend. Once more people start losing faith and the stadium becomes emptier, then it might change.

Best case scenario, we finish 8-8. Worst case scenario, we finish dead last in the league and slaughter the draft again. If the latter happens, rest assured that first pick will be a QB. If the prior happens, then perhaps we don't need as much as we thought.

you no i think we might not be as bad as people think if used right this team could goo 8-8 i mean we do have a lighter scedule then in past years but i am expecting around 6-10 for the season becuse this team will probley throw a few games away by terrible managment in game time stituations
