I heard on espn this morning that herm is looking into singing a vetran qb and then drafting on in the next draft. to "help turn the offense around" I am going to go out on a limb and say that since brodie is hurt and out for the year that he is going to be herms fall guy for the year. Herm will just put the blame on brodie for the lack of points and make it out to be with a new qb ( yet again)  that this offense will just turn around. But that is simply not the case.  the more likely is herm sings a guy that will just Get hurt and then draft a guy who will be next in line to be carted off the field.  All you have to do is look at herms history to see this. Just singing anther QB will not turn this team around or "give it a spark" what you need is a whole new offense. And by new offense i mean more then just stopint the presnap motion and changing the names of the plays. and lets face it herm will never be willing to do that. And that is why herm needs to go. Besides all of this its not like just the offense is the problem with this team. Look at the Run d. (herms specilty) its the worst in the league. So just singing a new qb is not the answer. This team needs a new voice and that voice needs to be someone that nos what they are doing and has a history of winning. I stand by what i h ave said there is talent on this team. And if it is used right they can not only be competive they can be winning team in the next year or to. as long as herm edwards is the head coach for this team this team will be "rebuilding" FIRE CARL NOW! so someone will do what needs to be done witch is FIRE HERM NOW!

this is what it will take to get this team turned around: new gm, new coach and staff... i am with you matt, that i don't believe the players are really this bad... this is what will shields was talking about when he retired that the system was doomed to fail... to keep the status quo in place for the rest of this season is to do a huge disrespect to the memory of lamar hunt, the players and most of all the fans, the ones footing all the bills...

I hear you Matt but keep preaching it. New QB huh? Well lets see. Since Herm's been here we have had; Trent Green, Todd Collins, Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle, Tyler Thigpen, Hagens, etc. Need we go on? Most  of them have been hurt and hurt badly commanding the Chefs "offense". It would not matter if the second coming of Montana as a starter and Elway to back him up were put on this team. YOU CAN'T WIN if the players don't believe in the system or the guys running it. It also makes no difference if they do believe in it because after about four games under any of these Marty/Herm types, EVERY team in the NFL knows exactly what your play calling is going to look like. Another thing that bothers me. Why do we hear exactly ZERO about Shemp Gailey and this offense? Remember, Gunny is now to be fired according to so many of these brainiac Koolaid drinkers that call the radio. Well here is a major news flash for them; The offense is even more pitiful than the defense. But wait!! Solari is gone. We've got a real offensive coordinator now. He is going to put a stop to that uninspired play calling that old Mike put us through. Uh, sure. If that is what you want to believe. Yet I haven't heard one of these smart fans that call the radio stations saying we should even be paying attention to Gailey. It is all Gunny. Remember Gunny, you heard it here first a few weeks ago. Get your resume ready. In fact, pull a stunt like the old coach of the Falcons and grab a good job on the sly and just quit this management while the quitting is good. YOU are going to be the next casualty in this "rebuilding" effort. At times I truly feel sorry for these coordinators. Trying to go out and implement a plan that doesn't exist. Yet eating crap sandwiches when it blows up and listening to genius commentators tell us how great Herm is. I also just about puke every time I hear  how everyone just needs to just shut up and give him more time. The last thing any decent QB is going to want to do is come here and take an arse beating every game. Does anybody care to bet Matt he's wrong and that another QB will be just fine in this system of ours?

You no i wonder what Solari is thinking when he see what this team still is. I don't think he was that bad of a cordnator. Its herms gameplan that is terrible. Solari was the fall guy for herm last year and this year i think its going to be brodie.  the fact that herm needs a fall guy every year should tell you all you need to no. FIRE HERM FIRE CARL

The difference between Herm and Marty should be pointed out however; Marty took risks and tossed some unexpected plays into the mix. Lake Dawson on a reverse sound familiar? In addition, Marty let Gunther run the D, anyone else remember running a Dime defense? Yes, we had more talent back then, but the staff realized that we had additional talent at CB, so we ran adjusted to that strength. We knew that teams were afraid of Okoye up the middle, so we had Steve DeBerg utilize what is arguably the best fake handoff of any QB to fake out even CAMERAMEN! We adapted to our strengths back then. We don't now.

At the begining of the season we ALL saw that we had depth at RB and WR. Why then did we not devise a more mobile offense? Screen passes, reverses, Quick slants, Quick ins/outs, Shovel passes... etc.. These are ALL tools that would have spread out the D to make room for LJ. These are ALL tools that would have made defenses hesitate to Blitz. These are ALL tools that MIGHT have kept Brodie healthy. Herm is dominating the coordinators. He is not allowing them to coach their style. He is NOT allowing Gunther to adapt the D away from a Cover 2 we don't have the players for. He hired Chan because he can get him to run a smashmouth offense that NO LONGER WORKS IN THIS LEAGUE!

The other diffrance between herm and marty is that marty at least put his teams in postion to make it to the playoffs. Marty new that if something was not working you don't just sit there and say oh things will change. this is our plan. He did what Herm is either uncapable or refuses to do MAKE ADJUSTMENTS.  And that is what is wrong with this team. It is herms not changeing a gameplan that has not worked that is getting the qbs hurt. Its is herms not changeing that gameplan that is makeing this offense the lowest scoreing team in the league. IT GOES ON HERM. Not vermile not brodie not chan and at this point i don't even think it was soalri ITS HERM FIRE HERM FIRE CARL
